Our Northwoods

Along Clark Lake, In The Sylvania Area of the Ottawa National Forest

🙂 I’d like to share a few pics from Up North. For me, that is Wisconsin, and the U.P. of Michigan.

As some know, I am licensed in real estate in Wisconsin also. I am deeply connected to the Northwoods, although most of my real estate work has been in Florida. I do frequently help clients from Wisconsin and Michigan, and maybe they’d enjoy seeing some pics of back Up North!

There are different opinions on what constitutes the Northwoods, as it refers to northern Wisconsin and such. But I don’t care about that here, I’m just sharing what I have which happens to be, in this group, from Marathon County, Wisconsin and northward, and across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, to Lake Superior. { The “North Woods” in Maine is a different place  🙂  }.

I will come back later and add more text, and probably more photos.

Please enjoy.

Spoiler Alert: One Meme Pic!
Spoiler Alert: One Meme Pic!

I’ll leave you with this last pic, a ‘meme pic’.

I do not mean to make light of climate change. I’ve seen it in my lifetime. I know it is much warmer now than in my early years. I can see it in the change of the quantity of insects in the Northwoods. And the Florida heat these last few years is just rough on me. But I couldn’t help myself – as I go through my photos, sometimes I see one, and I say, Hey a part of another photo would fit perfectly right there, and so I have some fun with it.

So I have the actual photo of the alligator on its log (it’s on this web site.). And I see the log in this photo. And I realize this log is almost perfect. So I tediously, with an older version of photoshop, manually cut out the alligator, and also manually cut out its reflection (Once you cut out an object, it is easy to duplicate it, flip it upside down, reduce its Opacity, and you have a reflection. But the harder way surely is the better way?)  and I placed them on this log.

Oh and well I have the Florida Sandhill Crane photo, too. (fabricated reflection). There are Sandhill Cranes in Wisconsin, however their colors are somewhat different and they migrate. The ‘Florida’ ones just hang out at the golf course all year long.

This meme assembly is just for fun or a chuckle. But let’s make sure it doesn’t really happen. Or stops happening.

I took this original scenery photo just beyond the back-end of the Sam Campbell Trail, looking West/Northwest.  That would be near the western or northwestern side of Fourmile Lake.  It needed some dressing up.

I have noticed that AllTrails.com, has a pic of this same tree-line, on their Sam Campbell Trail page.  The Sam Campbell Memorial Trail, is northeast of Three Lakes, and to get there drive East on 32 then north on Military Rd and watch for Old Military Rd to branch off.

PS I do not do a lot of photoshopping in this manner. My photos are real. I haven’t even experimented with AI. I use photoshop to optimize my photos for the web, create transparent sigs, place my copyright, that kind of thing. Someday I do want to photoshop some hair into my portraits though.

Thank you for looking at this

Someday I will create an OurNorthwoods.com site.

I do own that domain name, which currently will point to this post.
